Taking a trip to Disney, the most magical place in the world, is often considered a large expense, costing a few thousand dollars for a mid-sized family, as a budget seems out of the question to keep the Disney magic alive . But with some planning and budgeting, you can make your Disney dreams come true at a relatively affordable price. Here are some tips and tricks to take a memorable Disney trip while keeping the costs minimum :

Select a park beforehand :

Consider going to Disneyland rather than the Disney world if you wish to make your trip affordable. Disneyland is smaller in size, with all the rides in close vicinity, and so requires less walking.

Select a less crowded time of the year

If you can manage to go to Disney at the off peak time of the year, then avail the opportunity and plan a trip during the time with less crowds. The prices for rides and entrance may vary all year round, but prices during school breaks are highest.

Set limits beforehand

Plan ahead and book rooms close by, so that you can visit the park at whim and not get tired of taking walks several times a day during your Disney trip. The best strategy is to book rooms in an off site hotel that is close by. This way you can save thousands dollars and still be within walking distance from Disney.

Also, don’t give in to the fear of missing out and take a much needed break when you feel like you’ve had a sensory overload. Take a break for a swim or rest mid day, and return in the evening for shorter rides and breathtaking fireworks.

Prepare for food

Disney food is not cheap, and sit-down meals also take away from precious time you could be spending on fun rides. Always plan ahead and do basic grocery shopping with food delivery apps to save a considerable amount on meals and snacks. Keep protein, string cheese, fruits and bread and biscuits to keep you full and energetic on the long walks inside Disney. You can also save on water by asking the quick service restaurants for free water instead of buying $4 bottled water. Plan for those hunger pangs beforehand and have a hearty breakfast at the hotel so you don’t end up overspending on pricier food inside the theme park.
