There hasn’t been a single wedding where people haven't faced some minor inconveniences here and there. It’s a universal fact. No matter how rich you are, how organised you are, or how royal you are, there’s no denying those wedding days come with a lot of different feelings such as love, anxiety, bittersweet sadness, and whatnot! So, there’s always an element of pressure for it to go as perfectly as possible but while making it perfect, most people tend to find themselves in awkward situations, and even the Duchess of Cambridge can vouch for that!

When the date of the wedding was announced, it felt like half of the planet had gone into a frenzy where they were frantically searching for news and hints about the upcoming Royal Wedding, and one of the biggest sought-after news was regarding the bride’s dress. The designers had put a lot of effort into the royal wedding dress as it contained small intricate details that were discovered years after the wedding. So, when your dress is being designed by the top designers, the last thing you’d expect is that there’d be problems with it. However,  even the Duchess can’t outrun the trivial wedding problems.

The Mishap

Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, was finalising the wedding details on her end when she had to visit her wedding dress designer in a secret setting. The Duchess had chosen Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen for its beautiful craftsmanship, the respect for traditional workmanship, and the technical construction of clothing. However, despite making all the necessary arrangements and best efforts to keep it all a secret, the name of the designer was leaked by the Sunday Times, two months before the wedding date.

It was reported that the news leak did not sit well with the Duchess and she was considerably upset over the whole ordeal because this meant that her wedding dress would be revealed months before she would wear it and walk down the aisle. Katie Nicholl spilled the beans in the Channel 5 documentary ‘Secrets of the Royal Dressmakers’ that this incident became a reason to shed a tear since Kate (Middleton) had put in a lot of effort to keep the dress a secret.
