Kaia Gerber brought a clean ’90s fashion mood to the Los Angeles premiere of “The Shards.” Instead of relying on bold colors or heavy embellishments, the model and actress chose a pared-back Gucci outfit that kept the focus on its sharp silhouette and subtle skin-baring details.
For the Los Angeles premiere, Gerber worked with stylist Emma Jade Morrison on a black two-piece look from Demna’s Generation Gucci collection. The collection draws from the fashion house’s archives while giving familiar references a modern direction.
Gerber’s outfit included a simple bralette and a matching floor-length skirt, both made from lightweight crêpe jersey. The design featured a scoop neckline, stretch satin waistband, and long column shape.
Together, those details gave the outfit a distinctly ’90s feel without making it look dated.

The styling also stood apart from the big-haired, high-glamour fashion associated with the 1980s setting of “The Shards.” Gerber kept her overall appearance restrained, allowing the Gucci separates to remain the center of attention.
Her Beauty Look Stayed Simple
Gerber carried the same understated approach into her beauty styling. Rather than recreating the full-volume ’80s hairstyle seen in her role, she chose a simpler hairstyle that complemented the sleek black outfit.
That decision also highlighted how her recent “The Shards” press tour wardrobe has shifted between minimalism and carefully placed skin-baring details. Each look has offered a different take on the same polished approach.
At the Berlin premiere on Aug. 3, Gerber wore a custom Prada ensemble styled by Morrison. The white outfit paired a column maxi skirt with a cropped, backless top. Three buckles across the back added a small but noticeable design detail.
She finished the Prada look with soft white eyeshadow, rosy cheeks, a pink lip, and loose waves styled with a deep side part. After the premiere, Gerber shared photos on Instagram with the caption, “tangible berlin participation 🪞 for @theshardsfx.”
A Press Tour Filled With Sheer Looks

Instagram | checkthetag | Following striking looks in London and New York, Gerber continued her stylish press tour in Berlin.
The Berlin appearance came after several other memorable outfits during the press tour. In London, Gerber wore a semi-sheer ruffled dress, while a sheer Valentino look made another appearance in New York City.
Her recent choices have also renewed comparisons between Gerber and her mother, supermodel Cindy Crawford. The resemblance has followed Gerber throughout her career, and she has spoken openly about using Crawford’s style as a reference.
In a 2025 interview with Vogue, Gerber said, “The nice thing about looking quite similar to a parent is if I want to know if a hair or makeup look will look good on me, I will look up pictures of my mom. Because if it looks good on her, most of the time, I can pull it off as well.”
Gerber’s Gucci appearance adds another chapter to her “The Shards” press tour style. The black separates, simple beauty look, and streamlined shape show how a restrained outfit can make a strong red carpet impression without excessive styling.
Across Los Angeles, Berlin, London, and New York City, her choices have stayed varied while keeping a clear focus on modern silhouettes, exposed details, and references to earlier fashion eras.
